Ingredients

  • 2 cups table cream ½ & ½
  • 1 ½ cup heavy whipping cream
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • cup cocoa powder I use Dove, but any good brand will suffice
  • cup milk chocolate chips
  • 2 sticks cinnamon or one teaspoon ground extra for garnish
  • pinch sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  • In a heavy saucepan, heat table cream and 1 cup whipping cream on medium heat. Bring to a simmer, but do not boil. Stir in ½ cups of sugar until dissolved. Add the cocoa powder and whisk until. Add the chocolate chips and mix thoroughly until melted. Add salt and 2 cinnamon sticks and simmer for 5 minutes.

Cinnamon Cream

  • Using the remaining ½ cups of heavy whipped cream, blend with a hand mixer until whipped into soft peaks. Add ¼ cup of sugar, ¼ teaspoon of fresh ground cinnamon, vanilla, and stir.
  • Serve the rich chocolate drink in sipping cups with a cinnamon or peppermint stick for stirring. Add a small dollop of the cinnamon cream on top, and sprinkle a touch of powdered cinnamon for an extra burst of flavor. This final touch will surely satisfy your taste buds.
