    Tag Team Challenge

    August 29, 2024 by athomewithrebecka 2 Comments

Armed with another advantage for winning the Team Quarry Challenge as Captain, I head into the day excitedly. My advantage: I can pick who will team up as cooking partners in the notoriously stressful Tag Team Challenge. I think long and hard about my choices. Some are advantageous, and others may come back to haunt me.

    Pairs

I hope to create some MasterChef chaos! I mix it up by pairing older generations with younger ones and strong personalities with less assertive ones. I pair Warren and Hailey, Murt and Kamay, Adam and Jeet, Horacio and Daniella, Mike and Kimberly, and myself with Becca. I hope our personalities make us a dream team of determination and force.

The judges discussed my choices, voicing their concerns about each team. They think my pairing of Kamay and Murt is brutal. Warren and Hailey are evenly paired but concerned about the age gap. Jeet and Adam are a rough pair; they are quiet, and no one will take charge. Horacio and Daniella could be in trouble, as Horacio may not listen to Daniella's directions. Chef Ramsey says I picked the cream of the crop with Becca, and then Joe says that it could spell trouble with both alpha leaders having the instinct to take charge. Let's hope not!

    Toughest Tag Team Challenge EVER!

Joe says this is our toughest tag team challenge ever! You will have to craft four restaurant-quality dishes. I can't believe my ears! With a lump in my throat, a sense of panic grows.

    The Dream Team

Once Becca and I start cooking, will we be the same person? We are both powerful women; I envision us as the dream team. The chaos begins, and we charge headlong into the most challenging cooks of my MasterChef Journey. A complicated and beautifully plated dish is one thing, but four is a "freakin" nightmare! Just when you get in a rhythm, it's time to step out and let the other person cook. My brain is already overloaded, and we are just two dishes in.

    It's All A Blur

As much as I want to give you a play-by-play of what went down, I can't remember much; it's all blurry. All I can tell you is we both yelled a lot! We both cooked a lot and finished all the dishes with every component in the allotted time. I was proud of our efforts, and I felt like we achieved a pinnacle of perfection, albeit the screaming and yelling part...it sucked!

    First Time At the Bottom

When we finally escape this nightmare of a cook, we find ourselves in the bottom three. Nooo! This is my first time at the bottom of the MasterChef kitchen, and I want to puke! I thought Becca and I would win the day as the Dream Team, but Joe was right; all we did was cancel each other out! Becca said perfectly, "That's not what I thought was going to happen!" Me neither!!

    Bottom Three Teams:

Murt and Kamay, Jeet and Adam, Becca and Me

Sadly, Jeet has cooked her last day in the MasterChef kitchen, and we bid her farewell.

    Top Three Teams:

Warren and Hailey, Kimberly and Michael,

The Blue Team, Michael and Kimberly, won double Immunity and got a significant advantage in the next challenge.

    I Love Becca!

I love Becca, but I wouldn't say I liked this challenge. Thank goodness it's over!
